A Wish Wedding

My lovely customer Cara sent photos of her beautiful wedding.

My lanterns hang from the pergola.

    Gorgeous!

I am so honored and happy to have the opportunity to have my work as part of such an important event in a person's life.   Thank you, Cara!

Red Eft

We had a visitor to our backyard today. A Red Eft. It is the juvenile stage of the Red Spotted Newt. Apparently they're very common. I've never seen one, though, and Nathan (our 4 year old) was enthralled. How can I work with so many cool things to share with my son? I guess some of the tadpoles we saw earlier this year were newt tadpoles.

One Week Until ComFest!

ComFest is just a week away! Am I excited? Yes! Am I stressed? You betcha! My little boy is sick, which doesn't help. I have most of my inventory ready, but I'm going to try to squeeze a few more light catchers in. I hired a babysitter for tomorrow so that I can work.

If you are in Ohio, consider going to ComFest. It is a 3 day Art and Music Festival. It's HUGE and FUN! Learn more at: www.comfest.com. I'll follow up with photos after the festival. If you come, introduce yourself at my booth. Look for the "Wish Art Glass" banner!

Etsy Storque Glass Article

Vanessa (Etsy Admin.) published a fabulous article on glass in the Storque, Etsy's online magazine. The article features an informative interview about blown glass with providenceartglass. Have you ever wondered how blown glass is made? The article has wonderful information and videos detailing the process. One of my candle holders was featured in the Related Items section. You can view that by clicking on the pic of that section. Click on the pic of the glass blower to read the article. Enjoy!

Another Etsy Treasury!

DCHStudio was kind enough to include my new Sun Candle Holder in her latest Treasury. The treasury features beautiful pieces in amber. I was going to write about this piece today, so this works well!

The Sun Candle Holder is is made using a fiber mold that I have created myself. The resulting relief has wonderful refraction qualities. The shape of the sun shows as the candle flame flickers. Aside from the fused glass layers and the relief, I've finished it with elegant bead dangles.

Click on DCHStudio's name to view her lovely ACEO oil paintings. Click on the treasury pic to view the Sun Fused Glass Candle Holder. Hope you like it!

A New Lantern

Here is the Pimento Fused Lantern. (Click on the pic to view more details.) It is a five-sided lantern. I started with a clear base and fused garnet-colored murrini slices and small murrini that remind me of olives. I really like how dimensional this piece is. It's so beautiful when lit...

Preschool Fundraiser

Last night my husband and I went to a fundraiser for my son's school, The New Greenbrier Preschool. He loves it there and we have been thrilled with it. We try to do whatever we can to support the school. I'm on the Board of Directors (although sometimes I not sure how useful I am there). I also donated one of my necklaces for the Silent Auction. There was a bidding war over it! I was so pleased. Not only did that make me feel great, but it brought in more than I hoped from my donation. That necklace has found it's home, but here's a picture and link to another in the same line. My son also sold his first painting. We purchased his Flower Painting for $10. It will be framed, hung, and enjoyed for many years.
