Treasury of the Week

Bringing you this week's featured treasury made me realize that I did no blogging in the past week. It's been one of those weeks. Sometimes it's not that nothing happens, rather too much!
The Treasury of the Week is Autumn Leaves by simplysuzula. I was struck by the casual sophistication of the brown and white selections in this collection. My Damask Dangle Necklace was included. Enjoy!
Current treasuries may be viwed in the left column of my blog. Earlier treasuries may be found in my Treasury Archive. They all click through, so please visit and comment!

Treasury of the Week

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I have chosen "Gardening is in My Genes," by BlackStar as my Treasury of the Week. This collection was made in memory of her mother. I was very touched and honored to have my Kiku Flower Suncatcher included. Please visit this beautiful treasury and leave a comment if you are moved to do so!

WOMAN

My team's current treasury challenge is "Awareness" for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My entry is "WOMAN." As a departure from the pink theme, I chose to emphasize women's relationships:
Daughter
Lover
Wife
Mother
Grandmother
Friend
Self
You are so many things to so many people. Please remember to do your monthly breast self exam.

Labor Day

Ah, what a beautiful day! We started the day by driving to Paintsville Lake. We walked over the dam and walked a lovely nature trail. My son collected bird feathers. When we returned, I found my items in 4 new treasuries! After I blog about these, we're hitting the pool. We've had to use the solar cover because of the cool nights we've had, but it's still wonderful!

Treasury Challenge

My team, Etsy Project Embrace (teamepe), has a treasury challenge on now. The theme is "Imagine." I've decided to enter this collection that I made: "Imagine...endless energy!" You can read in to it whatever you like. I started with the idea of wanting more energy. I'm a bit stressed and feeling run down right now. I think most people would like to have more energy. As I worked on it, though, I began to interpret energy on a number of levels, most notably as in our need to find energy sources other than oil. I try to include about 2/3 team members. I like to leave the other 3rd open to those outside of the team, to help spread the word. I hope you enjoy it!

Project Embrace Treasury Challenge

My team, Etsy Project Embrace is having a Treasury Challenge. The theme is "Joy." I don't think I'll have an opportunity to make a treasury for the challenge, because I'm incredibly bogged down with work, school starting this week, and building a shed. But... 3 of my teammates were kind enough to include my pieces in their fabulous collections:
I hope you find Joy in these!

Project Embrace Treasury

One of my wonderful teammates, simplysuzula, made a treasury ( Called " ~~~Thanx~~~")with many of the fabulous members of Etsy Project Embrace. You can read my post about the team here. This treasury shows just a small sampling of the artists (and vintage and supplies sellers) who dedicate their time and/or money to the American Cancer Society to help fund cancer research and to provide assistance to those who have been affected by cancer. You can view many more items by searching HERE. MyKiku Flower Suncatcher was included. Earlier I had specified that $5 from the Kiku flowers would be donated. I have changed that to : any item of mine tagged "teamepe" will have 3% of the selling price donated. This has really allowed me to offer more items (most of my items, in fact) and has increased my ability to donate.

Two Treasuries and a Team Challenge

My team members at Etsy Project Embrace are prolific and talented treasury makers. I'm completely overdue on one of my own. The treasury ideas just don't seem to flow as easily for me. Here are two new gems from two lovely team members:
"transition," curated by Kathleencavalaro, includes my brand new Orange Crush Float Necklace, which I am entering in my teams Weekly Challenge.
This week's challenge is "Ice Cream Truck." I already had the piece made and titled. I thought it would fit the challenge, so I poked my nose in the freezer and found some rainbow sherbet to photograph with the necklace. I know an Orange Crush float would have been more approprite, but sherbet was what I had! My son loves eating props. :)

2 New Treasuries!

My wonderful teammates at Project Embrace have included my items in two new treasuries:
"Tuesday Evening" was curated by dbabcock.
"Embrace One Another" was curated by ThatSomething.
Thanks to both of you!
Back from Vacation

I've just returned from a 2 week road trip to Colorado with my husband, 5 year old son, and our dog. I'm happy to report that we still love each other! I'll write more about the trip in a later post. I just couldn't wait to get my Etsy shop up again. Freshly inspired by the beautiful canyons we visited, I decided to try my hand at curating a treasury. I chose to include many of my new friends on the Etsy Project Embrace team. They have been so kind to include me in many of theirs. Here is "Canyon Embrace"...enjoy!
7/16/2010 Update: This treasury is a finalist in the Project Embrace treasury challenge. You can view the other entries here:
